Allan Peterson, 86, of Mead, Washington, passed away in the hands of his Lord on the evening of Monday November 4, 2024. He was born in Montana on January 22, 1938, to Oscar J. and Selma (Nelson) Peterson.
Allan graduated from Flathead Highschool in Kalispell Montana in 1956 and moved to Washington, where he studied drafting and went to work for Boeing. He married Jean M. Thompson from Kalispell, MT in 1958 and they settled in Federal Way, WA. Jean preceded him in death by 13 years. He left Boeing to build freeway fencing in the Puget Sound region and founded Seacoma Fence Company in Federal Way, WA. Around 1976, he moved his family to the Spokane area and founded The Fenceman in Hillyard, WA. His logo can still be seen painted on a building there.
Allan was blessed with two children, Cheryl L. Peterson, and Kenneth A. Peterson; three grandchildren, Ian N. Fisher, Ariana R. Davidson, and Alyssa J. Peterson; and two great-grandchildren, River J. Brazington and Thomas Allan Felkins.
Allan was the last living sibling of eight that included Sisters Bernice T. (Peterson) Hallam, Doris M. (Peterson) Stene; Gladys L. (Peterson) Boehm, Vonnie (Peterson) Stuart Kehoe, and Brothers Arnold "Arnie" W. Peterson, Julian S. "Sandy" Peterson, and Leo Douglas Peterson.
Allan was a member of St. Luke Lutheran Church in Spokane, WA In his retirement, Allen pursued a hobby assembling scale model semi-trucks, worked in his yard, and spoiled his two cats.
An open casket viewing will be held from 12pm to 2pm on Tuesday, November 12th followed by a service beginning at 2PM at Riplinger Funeral Home, 4305 N Division St, Spokane, WA 99207.
