Beverly Werner

January 31, 1938 — October 21, 2024

In loving memory of Beverly Joyce Werner, who entered peacefully into rest on October 21, 2024 at her residence in Spokane, WA.

She was born in Muskogee, Oklahoma on January 31,1938 to parents Reese John and Nadine Roberta Maybee. The family moved to Ritzville, WA and eventually to Spokane. She graduated from North Central High School class of 1956, and attended Kinman Business University. She married her high school sweetheart Alvin, in March of 1957.

Things that brought her joy centered around her home and family. She was a devoted wife to Al, and mother to three busy children: Christine, Kenny and Debbie. They enjoyed their lake property on Long Lake, traveling throughout the West, snowmobiling in Yellowstone, a journey to Alaska, but especially yearly trips to the Oregon Coast. Al and Bev became Lady Zags season ticket holders in 1995, attended home games religiously until her health declined, then she followed them on TV.

She loved to " work in the yard", growing beautiful roses and dahlias. She enjoyed sewing, knitting, and crochet, and was proud to have completed baby blankets for all the grandchildren! A voracious reader, most evenings would find her with a pile of books. She also enjoyed bowling, first with her Dad, R.J., and then with her daughter Chris, who she bowled league with for over 30 years.

When Kenny and Debbie started competitive roller speed skating, she had to get her driver's license in her 30's to chauffeur them to practices and out-of-town meets, including multiple trips to Texas and Nebraska, "an inch is as good as a mile" was her motto.

She was predeceased by her parents and her husband, Alvin; her sister in law Sister Mary Simeon Werner F.S P.A., and brothers in law Milbert and Simeon Werner.

She is survived by her children: Christine Louise Marshall (Steve), Kenneth Lee Werner (Andrea), and Debra Ann Sheedy (Alan); her grandchildren: Amanda Hartman (Ryan), Kelsea Werner, Anastasia Sheedy of Spokane, and Brent Marshall (Sydney) of Fairview Oregon; and Great Grandchildren: Addison, Walter, Thomas and Lillian; her sister, Millie Halverson (Gary) of Wenatchee, WA; and her sisters in law: Margaret Stobie and Patti Werner; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be held at 2pm on Friday, November 8 at Fairmount Memorial Park, 5000 W. Wellesley Ave, Spokane, WA. Following the services, a reception and celebration of her life will be hosted by Kenny and Andrea at their home, 8213 W Melville Rd, Cheney, WA.

The family wishes to thank the staff of Arbor Rose Adult Family Home for their care and compassion, and GO ZAGS!!!
