Carol Belton

July 4, 1942 — November 24, 2024

Carol L. Belton

Carol was born July 4, 1942 to Fred C. Judd and Betty J. Judd. She died November 24, 2024.

A lifelong resident of Spokane she attended Longfellow grade school and Rogers High School (class of 1960.)

Carol wanted to be a nurse from the age of five and her dream was fulfilled when she graduated from Sacred Heart School of Nursing in 1963. She maintained a close relationship with many of her nursing classmates: Karen, Chris, and Dottie to name a few. She was active in the SHSN alumni association until her death. With 46 years of nursing service from staff nurse to administration she was a great teacher and an outspoken advocate for her patients.

Later she attended Whitworth University and received a BA in Business and Counseling and a masters in Health Education. In 1968 Carol married Richard "Dick" Belton. They had 38 years years together until his death in 2006.

Due to long term renal disease, Carol had a kidney transplant in 2017. She was blessed to form a strong friendship with her donors sisters Caroline & Celinda.

A special thanks to Dr. M Parisot and Dr. S. Sanchez and for the wonderful care she received from the St. Joseph's Staff. She is survived by her cousins Janelle Stavig, Kurt Miller, Georgia Heir and their families; and Dick's nieces Julie, Kathy and Beth.

Carol requested that instead of flowers donations may be made to Shriners Hospital, Renal Transplant Center in Spokane, or Parkinson's research. Also please consider organ donation.

A Graveside service will be held at 12noon on Thursday, December 12 at Fairmount Memorial Park in Spokane.
