Carolyn Elizabeth Robinson was born on 9/26/1968 in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho to adoptive parents Melvin and Sybil Robinson. Carolyn was one of 8 siblings. Carolyn spent her early years growing up in Kellogg, Idaho where she enjoyed riding horses and motorcycles.
In the late 70's Carolyn moved to Spokane and would call Spokane home for the last 40+ years. On May 27, 1983, Carolyn would meet the love of her life Albert Garcia and they would spend the next 41 years together. Out of their relationship came three boys: Tory, Derek, and Tony (the "boys" as Carolyn would refer to them). Carolyn was an amazing spouse and mother and without question we all knew who the boss was. She was loving and caring, but things were done her way. Keeping us all in line without a doubt attributed to the men we all have become today. Carolyn was a nana to 9 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. Carolyn greatly enjoyed her grandchildren and spending time with them and attending their various
activities.
Family was one of the most important things to Carolyn throughout her life. Carolyn had a very caring way about her and an eye for people who needed help. She allowed countless family members, friends and the boy's friends a place to stay while they worked on getting back to their feet.
Carolyn worked as a nurse's aide early on in her working career and worked at many nursing homes, rehab facilities around Spokane. She was a very good aide and during her work made lifelong friendships some that have lasted nearly 30 years. In 2001 she began working at Eastern State Hospital and spent 20 years working as a Mental Health technician helping patients that were hospitalized. Carolyn also made several friends while working at the hospital and enjoyed "B-pod" dinners with her coworkers.
Carolyn enjoyed girls shopping trips, going to the casino with Albert and others and having Sunday family dinners with her kids and grandkids in her free time.
In December of 2023, Carolyn became ill and was diagnosed with stage 4 cervical cancer. After finding out about the diagnosis Carolyn was calm and matter of fact about it and said she was going to fight. Fight is exactly what she did. Through all of the chemo and radiation Carolyn never complained about her diagnosis and showed her strength throughout her fight. On 10/12/24 Carolyn unfortunately lost her battle and passed away comfortably surrounded by Albert, the boys and her immediate family.
The family would like to thank everyone for their support over the last year during Carolyn's battle with cancer. We are forever grateful for all the prayers, condolences and support from everyone over the past year.
