Claude (CB) Lavin Lehnertz, 82, of Priest River, ID., passed away February 25, 2021. Claude was born on April 13, 1938 to Joseph and Agnes Lehnertz in Muenster, TX. Claude was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers Jimmy, Earl, Gene, Bub, Chic, Davie, Donny, and sister Dollie. Claude spent his early years helping his mother and father on the family farm, then later served 2 years in the U.S. Navy. Claude eventually moved to Spokane, WA. where he partnered up with his brothers in introducing Texas Pit Barbecue a legacy known today as the Longhorn Barbecue. Business expanded over the years including several restaurants and a barbecue food distribution plant. CB retired from the barbecue industry and moved to Idaho where he spent the rest of his days on his property, he called his “Lil” Ponderosa he enjoyed storytelling to Family and endless Friends, listening to his Blues, and watching his “Fuzzy Tails” as well as many other “Critters” out his big picture window. Claude is survived by his brother Floyd (wife Patricia), sister-in-law Jane, son Joe, daughter Tami (husband Mike) grandchildren Ashley and Jacob Broderius. CB was greatly Loved and will be deeply missed by his Family & Many Friends. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, March 13 at 10:30, Greenwood Memorial Terrace, 211 N. Government Way, Spokane, WA 99224 Celebration of Life to follow, Shriners Event Center 7217 W Westbow Blvd, Spokane, WA 99224 The Family asks in lieu of flowers, that a donation be made to The Wounded Warriors Project as it was an organization he faithfully supported.
