David C Wilson

November 23, 1942 — January 17, 2022

David C Wilson, age 79, of Rosalia, WA passed away January 17th, 2022 at Deaconess Medical Center with two of his five daughters by his side. David was born in Bremerton, WA on November 23, 1942. He was raised in Susank, KS and graduated from Hoisington High School in 1960 where he excelled at football. After high school David and his brother, Stephen, joined the Navy to see the world. While stationed in Pacific Beach, WA he met the love of his life, Tommie Calhoun, and her three children. They settled in Lacey, WA and loved playing pool; some may have called him a shark, but it helped pay the bills. When they weren’t hauling kids to soccer, baseball, drill team, tennis, violin lessons, gymnastics, gun club, girl scouts and any other extracurricular activity their kids wanted to participate, they enjoyed dancing. Some of David’s favorite pastimes were golfing, fishing, camping, socializing with friends in a game of poker and visiting casinos. People were drawn to him by his wonderful sense of humor, and he was just fun to be around. David worked for 20 years at Amfac Electric, moving his family to Twin Falls, ID and later Spokane, WA. Later he went to work for North Coast Electric where he was quite the salesman, winning numerous awards, retiring as general manager in 1995. He and Tommie moved to Rosalia, WA where they purchased the local watering hole, the Brass Rail, to do what they do best. David is survived by his brother Stephen Wilson of Andover KS, sister Linda Manweiler (Steve) of Wichita, KS, daughters Dawn (Yoshi) Baker, Gretchen (Dave) DeMulling, Brenda (Randy) Gilman, Melissa (Mike) Wilson, Kristi (Jason) Peplinski, loving caregiver, Thelma Teal, devoted first mate, Doug, 12 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. David is preceded in death by his parents James Wilson, Marie Blandin and Raymond Blandin, brother Charles Wilson, wife Tommie Wilson, and Sons David Wilson and Perry Wilson. A memorial service will be held later this summer. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in the name of David Wilson at www.hospiceofspokane.org.
