Debra Lutmer

September 28, 1954 — April 9, 2025

Debra “Debbie” Renee Lutmer, beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and servant of Christ, passed into the arms of her Savior at the age of 70. Born on September 28, 1954, in Fort Hood, Texas, Debbie was the eldest of eight children—a role she embraced with warmth, strength, and grace.

She was preceded in death by her devoted husband, Pastor Larry Lutmer, with whom she shared a deep passion for ministry and music. Together, they served as missionaries and evangelists throughout Eastern Europe in the early 1990s, proclaiming the Gospel and leading worship in city squares and churches across Romania. Their legacy of faith left an indelible mark on many lives.

After returning to the States, Debbie continued her ministry in the Pacific Northwest. She faithfully served as a Praise and Worship Leader at Calvary Spokane and later at Calvary Chapel Cheney. Her voice and spirit lifted countless hearts in worship, and her deep love for the Lord was evident in every note she sang and every life she touched.

Debbie was the proud and loving mother of three sons: Joel Lutmer (47) of Mt. Holly, NC; Josh Lutmer (46) of Spokane, WA; and Jon Lutmer (43) of Belmont, NC. She was also a cherished grandmother to eleven grandchildren: Brendan, Chandler, Emma, Kayden, Sarah, Bailey, Gabriela, Anna, Pierce, Mila, and Isa—each of whom brought her great joy and pride.

Since being widowed in 1999, Debbie carried the mantle of faith and family with unwavering devotion. Her home was always open, her heart always generous, and her life a reflection of Christ’s love. She leaves behind a legacy of worship, compassion, and enduring faith.

She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by her family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing her.
