Debrah J. Johnson, age 65, of Chattaroy WA, passed away peacefully on September 8th, 2018, with her family at her side. She had struggled with ALS (Lou Gehrigs Disease) for several months. Her spirit always remained peaceful and strong, a living example to others of her trust in God's faithfulness. Debrah's life displayed an endless, selfless love and devotion to her family and others. She was an amazing cook and esecially loved to celebtrate Christmas and Thanksgiving, a time where everyone was welcome and wonderful memories were made. Debrah and Mike were married July 11, 1970 and started an exciting life together, welcoming their first child, David in 1973 and then triplet girls in 1978. In 1986 they moved to Indonesia where they spent the next ten years setting up and working in a Christian based community development ministry first in Borneo, and later the Eastern Indonesian province of Papua. Debrah taught english language, assisted with medical needs and made a wonderful home for her family. At home in Chattaroy she was very active in her community and enjoyed attending Chattaroy Community Church. She was the type of person you wanted to spend hours with, she had a heart of compassion and encouragement for others and people were drawn to her wherever she went. Debrah looked for opportunites to minister and love others. She truly lived a very full and blessed life. She is survived by her husband Michael, her four children David, Karen, Kristine and Kellsie as well as 11 grandchildren who were her pride and joy. She was deeply loved and cherished by her family and friends. A Celebration of Debrah’s Life will be held on Saturday, September 15, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at Chattaroy Community Church, 3711 E. Chattaroy Rd., Chattaroy, WA 99003.
