SHERWOOD, Donald L. “ROY”, (age 83) – Entered into rest on November 30, 2018 at home. Born at Coulee Dam, WA, Roy lived in our area over 64 years with the last 20 in Colbert. A graduate of Coulee Dam High School, he went on to attend Washington State College (1953, Theta Chi), and eventually earning both his Bachelor’s Degree and Master’s Degree from Gonzaga University. He worked as a proud Educator for School District 81, retiring in 1984. Additionally, he devoted his life to the US Army, and was retired honorably as Lt. Colonel Sherwood. Roy was an avid hunter, fisherman, and classic car enthusiast. He was happiest spending time with his family at the lake and boating. He is survived by the love of his life, best friend, and wife of 61 years, Jean, at their home; son, Stewart Sherwood (Deborah) of North Bend, WA; daughter, Robin Lichtenstein (Jeff), and grandson (Luke) of Castaic, CA, and daughter, Anne Fritz (Brian) of Spokane, WA. As well as countless young people “Mr. Sherwood” had a lifelong impact upon. At his request, a private family service with military honors and interment will take place.
