Harold, 93 years old, passed away January 20th, 2019 at home in Spokane, WA. He was born in Dahinda, IL, August 21, 1925 to Elsie and Clarence Tucker. He graduated from Knoxville High School in Knoxville, IL, and joined the Navy soon after. He was stationed at Farragut NTS in Idaho. In the Spring of 1944, on a liberty to Spokane, he met Shirley Campbell. They were married on November 11, 1945. After Harold’s discharge from the Navy, they settled in Spokane, WA. In 1950, Harold joined the Spokane Police Force, where he spent 25 years of public service in many different departments, including 8 years as a motor cycle officer and ending as a detective in the fraud division. Harold then went to work as an investigator for the State Dept. of Revenue. He was also very active in the Masonic Lodge and in his 70’s he became a licensed minister. Harold was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, and three sisters. He is survived by his wife of 73 years, Shirley; sons, Doug (Glynis) of Spokane, and Ron of Huntsville, AL; daughter, Pattie Stanton of Spokane; two sisters, Betty Scott of East Peoria, IL and Jane Hlavach of Washington, IL; as well as 10 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, and another on the way! A memorial service will be held at RIPLINGER FUNERAL HOME, 4305 N DIVISION, Spokane, WA, on January 31, 2019 at 4:00 p.m., with a reception following at North Hill Christian Church, 4620 N Post, Spokane.
