Irene peacefully went home to be with the Lord and reunited with her husband, Don on August 19th, 2022. She was born December 28, 1927 in Ryder, North Dakota. She was brought up on a farm along with nine brothers and sisters. Irene enjoyed sharing forever-more memories with family and friends of her early years. Irene then ventured to the State of Washington in her twenties, where she met many wonderful families, which allowed her the opportunity to attend and graduate from Kinman University. In 1951, on January 14th, she married the love of her life, Don. For several years she did bookkeeping for the family business, Custom Body Company. She enjoyed her family and friends. Irene was very social with a good sense of humor. She enjoyed people watching and a good conversation. She loved listening to music, going for milkshakes, and hearing about the adventures of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Most people called her “Grandma.” Irene was preceded in death by her husband Don of 60 years in 2011, her parents; her brothers, Chris, George, Henry, Robert, Bennie; and her sisters Emelia and Rose. She is survived by her daughter Deanna Dullanty (husband Pat), her son Gary (wife Sue), and sister Minnie of North Dakota. She also has two granddaughters, Jennifer and Katie and two great-grandsons, Brysen and Bentley; two step-grandsons, Lance and Jason and their children; along with several nieces and nephews. A special thank you to Touchmark for all the amazing care and love they gave to Irene (“Grandma”) over the years. Also, thank you to Hospice of Spokane for being so caring and making her final days comfortable. They are both truly a blessing. Visitation for family and friends will be at Riplinger Funeral Home, Monday, Sept 12th and Tuesday, Sept 13th from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm. A private graveside service will be held. A celebration of Irene’s life will be held at Mamma Mia’s on Wednesday, September 14th from 4 pm to 6pm. In Irene’s memory in lieu of flowers, we are asking for donations be made to Hospice of Spokane.
