JoAnne Brockway, age 97, of Spokane, WA, passed away on July 9, 2023. She was born on October 14, 1925, in Spokane, to the late Beatrix and Chester Black. JoAnne was an energetic and lively individual who had a passion for family and decorating for every holiday. She also had a unique collection of Crocs and was an avid crafter. One of JoAnne's favorite hobbies was bowling at North Bowl, where she found great joy and camaraderie for over 60 years. Her passion for the sport brought her many cherished memories.
JoAnne is survived by her loving daughter, Pam (Kerry) Novell, and her sons Jerry (Sharon) Lenz and Randy (Donna) Lenz. She was a beloved grandmother to her granddaughters Leticia, Natalie, Rachel, Vanessa, Kenzi, Caylin, and Taila, and grandson Sean. JoAnne was also a cherished great-grandmother to Mason, Eloise, Lilia, Brynya, Hadley, Wyatt, Wesley, Aelia, Hazel, Rylee, Alix, Jaren, and Jake. She was also blessed with a great-great-granddaughter, Sylvia.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband George Brockway, brother Robert Black, and sister Betty Schoen.
JoAnne attended Lewis & Clark High School, graduating with the Class of 1943, and then attended the University of Idaho. She also worked at Fairchild Airforce Base for several years.
A memorial service to honor JoAnne's life will be held on July 18, 2023, at 10am at Riplinger Funeral Home, located at 4305 N Division St, Spokane, WA 99207.
JoAnne Brockway will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all those whose lives she touched. Her memory will forever remain in their hearts.
