BENEDICT, LeRoy Stanley “Benny” – Passed away Thursday, June 7th at the age of 93. He was born in Evanston, Wyoming on March 20, 1925. Benny spent his childhood in the Bay area of California and after high school joined the Army Air Corp which later became the U.S. Air Force. He was a member of a bomber crew and flew in several combat missions during the Korean War. He earned the rank of Master Sergeant and after 23 years, retired from the service. He then joined the U.S. Postal Service where he delivered mail on the same route for 25 years. Benny was well known along his route as he would carry dog biscuits for all his K-9 friends and loved playing with them and petting them during the day. He was an avid prospector, enjoyed camping and being in the woods. Benny is survived by his wife of 68 years, three grandchildren, five great grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren, and his puppy Samantha. A memorial service with military honors will be held on Wednesday, June 27, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at RIPLINGER FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORY, 4305 N. DIVISION, SPOKANE, WA.
