Lyle Edward Rice passed away peacefully on December 5, 2020 in Spokane, Washington at age 89. He was born to Clinton and Lillian Rice on December 6, 1931 in Sherman County, Kansas. Lyle joined the United States Air Force in 1951, entering the civil service upon his discharge. He spent more than half of his life overseas in service to his country. He is survived by his wife Felicitas, son Andrew; two brothers: Carlos ‘Butch’ Rice and his wife Dorothy of Lost Creek, Montana, Clark ‘Corky’ Rice of Opportunity, Montana, and five sisters: Wilma Burkey of Chandler, Arizona, Wanda Rogers of Meridian, Idaho, Lillian Haffey and husband Ron of Anaconda, Montana, June Rice-Craner and husband Merle of Spokane Valley, Washington, Phylis Rice of Butte, Montana, and Carol Rice of Opportunity, Montana, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents Clinton and Lillian Rice, his in-laws Julius and Hildegard Timpel, and his brother Thomas Rice. Services will be presided over by Pastor John Underhill at Washington State Veterans Cemetery, 21702 W. Espanola Road, Medical Lake, Washington on Wednesday, 16 December at 130 pm. Social distancing and face masks will be required.
