Patricia “Pat” Ann Haines, passed away in her Spokane home, surrounded by loved ones on October 4, 2023. Patricia was born in Fremont, Nebraska to Viggo and Imogene Mortensen on July 27, 1936. She was the oldest of six children and was raised on her father’s farm in Omaha, Nebraska. She shared many memories of her life on the farm, once being named the Dodge county cow-milking champion. Prior to moving to Washington State, Pat spent many years living in the bay area of California where she raised her four children. Pat moved to Moses Lake, Washington in 1985 where she owned and operated an adult family home for 25 years. Her true joy in life was her four children, four Grandchildren and nine Great Grandchildren.
Pat is survived by her daughters Lisa Ortez, Lora Hudson (Mike Hudson), Jennifer Lonas (Nick Oscarson); her grandchildren Catherine O’Dell Minnis, Rashell VerValin; Jennylee Lonas, Joelina Moore (Daniel); her Great Grandchildren Briar, Shelby, Kaitlyn, Lillian, Gavin, Evelynne, Oliver and Viggo as well as her brother’s Kaj, Paul & John Mortensen, sister Jean Inzano; niece's Shawna & Miley, nephew's Michael & Eric.
She is preceded in death by her son Bruce O’Dell, great granddaughter Abigail VerValin, niece Jill Biggs, nephew Christopher Inzano, sister Lynn Muschong, half-sister Karen Marisch, husband Norbert Haines, son in law's Jimmy Lonas and John VerValin as well as her parents Viggo and Imogene Mortensen.
The family would like to thank Hospice of Spokane for the care they provided Pat during the end of her life.
