Patricia Ann Kroetch

November 16, 1939 — April 23, 2022

Patricia Kroetch (Patti, Pat, Mom, Grandma) passed away while surrounded by her three sons on the afternoon of Saturday, April 23, 2022. Born in Spokane, WA on November 16, 1939 to Percy and Edna Howell, she lived her whole life here alongside a large community of family and friends. She was preceded in death by her sister, Bev Klassen, and loving husband, Greg Kroetch. Her legacy continues with her five children, Teri, Tami, Greg, Mike & Patrick, and will live on with the abundance of grandchildren and great-grandchildren that loved her so dearly. She was beautiful in life and continues to be in the memories we all will cherish forever. In life, you may have seen Pat at one of the many restaurants she owned around Spokane (Café Americana (aka Percy’s), Decades, the Golden Hour, & the Bread Basket). In her spare time, Pat also loved cooking and conversing with the patrons of the Union Gospel Mission’s soup kitchen, and getting lost in the hundred-acre woods. In death, we like to think that she found Greg. Perhaps now they can kick back on a beach, knowing that they did a wonderful job raising all of us. However, we know that they will be cooking up a feast for everyone they are with, smiling at each other while they do. Patricia will be remembered in that first, heavily buttered bite of well-made bread, in all of the recipes she created, in the sing-song call of a “yoo-hoo” to get all of the kids to come running, and in a polite, well-timed smile and giggle from her descendants (even when they may not know what you are talking about). We know, she knows, she was very loved, but we would like everyone else to know that, too. A service will be held at 1801 E 29th Ave (Summit Church), on June 23rd at 11am. Join us after the short service for light conversation and heavy hors d’ oeuvres. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Union Gospel Mission of Spokane.
