Richard passed peacefully at his son’s home on July 12, 2022 at the age of 88. Richard was born in 1934 to Adrian Minkler and Janice Hensley (Skelton) in Craigmont, ID. He graduated from North Central High School in Spokane, WA and then went on to attend the University of Idaho (Kappa Sigma Fraternity). After college, Richard joined the Air Force and was deployed to Aviano, Italy. After his enlistment ended, he was honorably discharged and returned to Spokane to begin his civilian life. Richard then began a career at Washington Trust Bank that ultimately spanned over 40 years. He held numerous positions during his career but spent the majority of those years as an internal auditor. Washington Trust Bank is also where he met the love of his life, Doralyn (Dodie) Nachtwey. Richard and Dodie were married 41 years and she preceded him in death in 2004. Richard enjoyed gardening, cooking for friends, stamp collecting and watching sports. In his latter years, it was not uncommon for him to wear out a TV remote during college football and basketball seasons by changing the channel and trying to watch every game on every channel at the same time. Go Vandals! Go Zags! Richard is survived by his son Cameron and his wife Traci; sister Melanie and husband (Jim Muzatko); stepson Terry Eisenhauer; grandchildren: Sarah Eisenhauer, Jason Eisenhauer (Sara), Britni Woodring (Matt), Sidni Shoemaker (Sam), and Tory Minkler (Haley); great grandchildren: Daxton Woodring, Paris Woodring, and Hayes Shoemaker; Niece and Nephew, Ashley (son Brayden) and Ryan Muzatko (daughter Haylee). Rest in peace Dad, we sure had a good run! At Richard’s request, there will only be a small family prayer service.
