It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Sandra Lynn van der Meer, (77), a wonderful friend, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She passed away on December 22, 2021, in Spokane, Washington, after a long battle with cancer. Sandra was born on August 5th, 1944 to Roscoe E McMullin and Faye Yvonne McMullin in Blackfoot Idaho. After graduated from high school in 1962, Sandra went on to Beauty School. Sandra married David E Bell in 1963 and had 2 beautiful daughters, Laurinda Swank and Christina Tadlock. Sandra married her second husband Cornelis van der Meer in 1976. Sandra had a deep love for animals, always having cats, dogs, birds and especially horses in her life. Sandra was a wonderful artist and spent long hours with her charcoals creating such beauty on her canvases. Sandra also did all the artwork for creating the t-shirts for the 5-A-Side Soccer Tournaments every year. She was always very social, so being a concessions manager at the Community Colleges of Spokane was a perfect job for her until she retired. Sandra was predeceased by her parents Roscoe and Yvonne McMullin and her husband Cornelis van der Meer. Sandra is survived by her brother Brent McMullin, daughters Laurinda Swank and Christina Tadlock, grandchildren Brandon Roberson (Sing), Ashley Garrett and Michael Tadlock and great grandchildren Peyton and Elycia Swank. Services for Sandra will be held sometime in the spring. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Hospice of Spokane, an organization that took such great care of her at the end of her life.
