Shannon Lee Hill (Pierson) passed away peacefully in the early the morning of July 17, 2022, at her residence in the Pleasant Comfort AFH in Spokane, WA. She was 79 years old. Shannon was born December 13, 1942, to parents E.R. James Pierson and Belva Lee Pierson (Dowd) in Spokane, WA. Shannon’s father Jim was a longtime grocery business owner and owned several businesses in E. Washington and N. Idaho. The family lived in different towns during her youth as her family owned and operated different businesses during her younger years. The family permanently moved to Spokane in the late 50’s and Shannon, the youngest of three children, graduated from Lewis and Clark High School in 1960. Shannon married Clair Bailey of Coeur D’Alene, ID. in 1960 and started a family. Clair bought his first grocery business, Center St. Market, in 1968. Shannon and Clair divorced in 1970. Shannon then worked to support her three children. She worked for the City of Spokane/SPD as a Meter Maid in the early 70’s, then the Jensen-Byrd Company. She went on to work for Franz-Snyder bakeries in Spokane in the accounting department in the lates 70’s until the 90’s. She retired after several years working in production and processing for Washington Trust Bank in 2005. Shannon was briefly married to Jim Hill in 1975 and soon divorced. Shannon never remarried. Shannon was preceded in death by her parents E.R. James Pierson and Belva Lee Pierson of Spokane WA, brothers James Pierson of Coeur D’Alene, ID and Kermit “Ardy” Pierson of Spokane, WA, Daughter Janna Brockington (Bailey) of Spokane, WA. and son-in-law William “Bud” Walsh of Spokane, WA. Living relatives include her oldest son Todd G. Bailey and his wife Kimberly A. Bailey, youngest daughter Ronna L. Walsh (Bailey), sister-in-law Sherril Pierson. Grandchildren, Andrew Bailey, Mathew Walsh and wife Krystal Walsh, Chad Walsh and wife Anna Walsh, Kayli Walker, and husband Titus Walker (Fredericksburg, VA) Krystal Janzen, Jonathan Brockington (San Antonio, TX) plus nine great grandchildren. The family would like to thank the owners and caregivers of Pleasant Comfort AFH for their years compassionate care for Shannon as well as Horizon Hospice of Spokane for their care in the last months of her life. Shannon will be laid to rest alongside her parents James and Belva Pierson, and daughter, Janna Brockington, at Spokane Memorial Gardens Spokane, WA. The family requests that you make charitable contributions in lieu of flowers to The American Lung Association. A visitation will be held on Monday, July 25th from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at Riplinger Funeral Home, Spokane, WA. A graveside service will be on Tuesday, July 26th at 10:30 a.m. at Spokane Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
