Verna Irene Roseberry Hoffman was born on April 4, 1956 in Spokane, Washington to Earl and Frances Roseberry. She passed away on July 28, 2018 after a courageous fight with colon cancer. Verna graduated from Mead High School in 1974 and became a meat wrapper, working at various local stores during her career. Her many customers enjoyed Verna because she always had a smile and her boisterous laugh that could be heard throughout the store was unforgettable. Verna married Jim Hoffman on July 31, 1982. They made their home in Chattaroy where they raised their two children, Teresa and Trevor. Verna enjoyed her horses, having had at least one horse most of her life. In addition kittens, cats and critters were always part of the house hold. She made many memories camping, fishing, and playing cards with her family and numerous friends. Most of all, Verna enjoyed her family. Verna was an excellent cook so it was enjoyable to be invited over for a home cooked meal. Verna is survived by her husband Jim, her daughter Teresa and her husband Steffen and their son Bradley, also by her son Trevor and his wife Airianna and their daughter Charlotte. Verna is also survived by her sister Jody Polley and her husband Don Polley, numerous cousins, as well as many nieces and nephews. Verna’s parents and Grandmother Marie Anderson preceded Verna in death. Verna’s strong will and fighting spirit allowed her to surpass the one year date given to her by her doctor. The hospice professionals were amazing and very helpful during their time with Verna. As per Verna’s request there will be no funeral services. In lieu of flowers please consider donating to hospice. Verna will be deeply missed by all of those who knew and loved her.
